Sower and the Seed

Seed Upon Good Ground

And other seed fell into the good ground, and grew up, and produced a crop a hundred times as great, Lk. 8:8.

INTERPRETATION: And the seed in the good ground, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance, Lk. 8:15.

EXPOSITION: This small group of believers has chosen to keep their focus on Christ. The good ground they have anchored themselves into is the Sphere of Faith. The Sphere of Faith is a perfect environment for spiritual development. It is in the Sphere of Faith that one hears what God is saying and closes his ear to the spiritual con men.

In this fertile environment, the believer hears and studys God's Word for its spiritual content. They chose to follow its directives so as to live their lives in a pleasing and faithful way before God. They fully understand that it is not their agenda they are to pursue, but to follow Christ down the Path of Righteousness. It is down this path, and this path alone, that they will take root, grow and mature or grow up unto God's glory.

Yes, it is this small group of the faithful, who chose to live in a pleasing way before God. These individuals chose to be objective, thoughtful, and critical. They seek not the riches of the world, but the riches of God's Intimate Counsel. It is such riches which have eternal value. It is these who have chosen to live in a healthly way before God by feeding upon God's wisdom and not spiritual junkfood. For it is God who teaches in this parable the steps to spiritual health and well-being: They are as follows:

  • A. Keep your focus on Christ. The Sphere of Faith is the perfect environment for spiritual growth.
  • B. Highly esteem and value God's Word as alive and powerful. It's benefits are beyond all we could ask or think.
  • C. Water with perservance: Take hold and hold fast
  • D. Fertilize with praise and thanksgiving. In all things give thanks
  • E. Implement Operation: Menance Control for wiping out
    Weeds, Pests, and Diseases
    .
...I. shoe away the pests of worry, doubt, fear. Mt. 6:33
...II. Weed out selfish ambition, frivilous pursuits, unproductive
    enterprises. Redeem the time wisely.
...III. prevent disease by holding fast to God's Intimate counsel derived from the whole counsel of God's word. Strong hermeneutics, as guided by the Holy Spirit, must be employed to prevent corruption of the soul by false doctrines (i.e., spiritual junkfood)
